I believe in real moments and chasing light. I believe in images that are meant to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I began capturing images on a DSLR at the age of 17 when I was given a camera for my birthday. Once my girls were born in 2017 & 2018, I wanted to learn all I could to perfect my craft. I wanted heirloom portraits to pass down for generations. I take time to observe the beauty in the world, and the people around me.
Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to create beautiful and emotional images that tell a story and showcase the beauty of both the people in the images and the world around them. I will create a relationship with you because of my passion for knowing my clients and providing an exceptional service to create the heirloom portraits to treasure for years to come.
Even with it's ups and downs, your life, your story, are beautiful and I can't wait to create images to show that!
I grew up in a small town in Central Illinois, I was raised with dirt roads, corn fields as far as you could see, and the security of small town life. After marrying my high school sweetheart, Kevin, we moved a variety of times. Since he enlisted in the Army, we have been to Texas, and Colorado. We are now stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. I love to travel and would love to capture your memories all around Europe!
My background as a small town girl still lives with me in various ways, particularly in my desire to be barefoot all the time. In the warmer months, basically above 50, I am barefoot. I will always start a shoot with shoes, but chances are, midway through I am kicking them off and showing my true nature.
My love for photography has brought me everywhere from the swinging moss on Charleston's historic oak trees, the wide open spaces in Texas, the plains of Central Illinois, the deserts of Arizona, the mountains in Colorado, and darling areas around Germany, Italy & France. But regardless of where I live or travel, my ability to capture and create memories makes any space feel like home.
After a long week of work for my husband, it is our time to make memories and go on adventures with our girls. Nothing is better than hearing their peals of laughter as we explore something new.
We love to just get in the car and drive somewhere pretty. We have discovered that there are so many hidden gems that are easy to get to. The best memories come from not having an agenda and just making up the plan as we go!
Weekends are oftentimes when I work with most of my clients. The work week is harder for them to schedule shoots on. So, a lot of weekends, especially in the fall are blocked off to shoot!
IF I HAD TO DESCRIBE MY BUSINESS IN THREE WORDS, THEY WOULD BE ROMANTIC, LIGHT & TIMELESS.
The first time I met my daughters, Allison & Raegan, I was overwhelmed with the love I had for them. As she and her sister grow, I want to keep the memories alive. By capturing the every day along with the special occasions we will all have the ability to reminisce. That is what I strive to create for the families that allow me to work with them.
When I look back on photos of my husband and I, I am reminded of our love story and how we have grown together as we have spent the years together. We started as sixteen year olds, and now more than a decade later we have changed so much. We have experienced several chapters of life together, and I look forward to many more. Photos remind us of the strength, courage and hope that reside in all of us the way few other things can.
it was love at first sight.
Morgan & Brenda
Longmont, Colorado Wedding
"Working with Brenda was great! I felt like we had known her forever, we just laughed the whole time, it didn't even feel like we were strangers. Brenda has been one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She is sweet, funny and really cares about her clients and that they get spectacular photographs."
