One day my husband came home and said “hey babe, I told a soldier in my squad about you. She might be reaching out about wedding photography.” Weddings feed my soul so I was super excited about it.
Letticia reached out to me and we set up a time to meet at Starbucks! I love to take my clients out to discuss the wedding plans, timelines, locations, their goals, etc. A few weeks later we spent about an hour together at Starbucks. Talking about everything from their relationship, families, love story and where they’re from, to wedding plans.
Brett and Letticia had already had a small courthouse wedding, but they wanted to have a big celebration with family and friends. They chose to get married again here in Colorado in mid June. Well. COVID-19 happened and in result, that did not happen. It was a heartbreaking decision for them both. They wanted to get to laugh and hug and celebrate with their family and friends.
When Letticia told me their decision, I felt so bad for her and all of my 2020 couples that had to change/nix their wedding plans. It has been a HARD year for them!
I offered a session for just the two of them. They never had any professional photos from their wedding and I wanted to make sure they had some wonderful portraits of the two of them!
We met last night in Colorado Springs, and of course, 20 minutes before their session, it starts storming. Big raindrops are falling and thunder is rumbling. I kept checking the radar and nothing was even showing up. So, we sat in the car and waited it out. About 20 minutes after we were supposed to start, it fizzled out and it was barely spitting rain. We chose to chance it.
Boy am I glad that we did. The light was GORGEOUS after the rain and the sun gave us amazing glow. It was perfect. We walked to a few different spots within the park and took photos. I was spazzing out about the beautiful light peeking over the mountains and how amazing the two of them photographed. They did great and their love was so easy to capture.
Without further ado, enjoy some of my favorites from their session.
Brett & Letticia, I am so sorry you didn’t get the wedding you had planned, but I know your love shines through all of life’s disappointments. Enjoy your photos.
